Spanish-Moroccan Bilateral Agreement

The Spanish Navy participates in Exercise ‘MAES-17’ in the Gulf of Cadiz waters.
This exercise is intended to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the Spanish and Moroccan Navies.

Exercise MAES-17, with participation of Spanish and Moroccan frigates ‘Navarra’ and ‘Mohamed V’, took place recently in the gulf of Cadiz. Both warships had organic helicopters on board.

The exercise focused on the requirement to develop bilateral cooperation and interoperability between the Navies of the Kingdoms of Spain and Morocco.

The first stage of the exercise was conducted in port, coordinating the activities which would later be carried out at sea.

The second stage, with different training exercises and drills took place in the Bay of Cadiz. Both ships subsequently headed towards the Moroccan port of Casablanca where the results of the exercises were analyzed.
