MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER JUAN RAMÓN ANEIROS LÓPEZ

Juan Ramón Aneiros López was born in Ferrol (Corunna) on September 1st 1959 and joined the Spanish Navy on October 28th 1975. After attending all scheduled promotion courses, he became Petty Officer in July 1985 as manoeuver specialist at the ‘Galatea’ School in Ferrol.

In 1976 he embarked as Seaman on board the attack transport ship ‘Aragón’. As Leading Seaman he was first posted to the offshore tug ‘Ferrol’ in the Canary Islands and subsequently to the destroyer ‘Blas de Lezo’ until 1983 when he became assistant instructor at the ‘Galatea’ Manoeuver School.

His first Petty Officer post was on the offshore tug ‘Cádiz’ homeported in the city of the same name. After a short period at the Specialties Training Center, he embarked on frigate ‘Asturias’ in January 1989 until July 1993. He was later posted to the Seamen Instruction Center in Ferrol (NW Spain) and when promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer he was assigned to the offshore tug ‘Cartagena’.

In October 1996 he was part of the prospective crew of the patrol boat ‘Alborán’ in Vigo until her delivery to the Spanish Navy in 1997.

He has Damage Control and Human Resources suitability certificates.

In July 2012 he was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer after having served in several assignments in Madrid; among them the Recruitment and Integration Directorate of the Spanish Navy, the Personnel Evaluation and Classifications Secretariat, and the General Services Head Office.

He has been awarded the following decorations: Badge, Commendation and Cross of the Order of San Hermenegildo, six Naval Merit Crosses, the Kuwait Liberation Medal and the WEU Service Medal.

On January 26th 2015 he was appointed Master Chief Petty Officer of the Spanish Navy.

He is married and has two children.
