Prime Minister Rajoy tours the offshore patrol vessel ‘Vencedora’ during a port of call in Dakar

On the morning of May 4th the OPV ‘Vencedora’ welcomed aboard the Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Pedro Morenés, the Chief of the Joint Staff admiral Fernando García, and other Spanish and Senegalese civilian and military authorities.

Mr. Rajoy and his entourage were welcomed by the ship’s CO, Lieutenant-Commander Miguel Perales. He conducted a brief visit, signed in the Book of Honor, and received a presentation on the ship’s capabilities in the CIC (Combat Information Center), as well as its mission and cooperative security tasks with countries in West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea.

The ‘Vencedora’ is currently deployed off the Senegalese coast conducting maritime security activities.
