Closure of the Naval Museum for refurbishment works.

Construction works for a new entrance to the Naval Museum will soon commence. The refurbishment undertakings will affect the old building and some of the museum rooms.

The Madrid Naval Museum, is a National Museum belonging to the Spanish Historical Heritage network, and is therefore entrusted not only with the adequate care of the collections it treasures, but with the personal safety of the visitors as well. Accordingly, the Museum will close on September 3rd.

This closure will coincide with the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Asia and the Naval Museum’ scheduled for September 20th. The inauguration and ensuing press conference will take place in the Museum’s Courtyard B. The exhibition can nevertheless be visited through a provisional entrance through Montalbán Street.

The opening date of the refurbished Naval Museum will be announced in due course. Please note that the Montalbán entrance is not adapted for people with limited mobility.
