OPV ‘Relámpago’ will deploy in the West African Coast and the Gulf of Guinea.

On Sunday 28th the offshore patrol vessel (OPV) ‘Relámpago’ set sail from Las Palmas Military Arsenal to conduct maritime surveillance tasks, military cooperation activities and support the Spanish Defense Diplomacy Plan. This deployment will also strengthen the European Union’s Coordinated Maritime Presence initiative in an area of special interest for Spain.

The farewell ceremony was presided over by Rear Admiral José Lago Ochoa, CIC of the Canary Islands Naval Command.
